Este evento será realizado em alemão. Começaremos com o primeiro "Inside Sparkling Science 2.0 - Spotlight" sobre "Collaborating with Partner Schools in Citizen Science: Plan vs. Reality". Os dois projetos da Sparkling Science CO2 Conversion. From harmful exhaust gas to a resource - CO2 as a valuable raw material e Aquirufa. Biodiversity and ecology of freshwater bacteria compartilham suas experiências com os participantes e falam sobre a cooperação com as escolas participantes. Entre outras coisas, eles falam sobre como fizeram ajustes no projeto. Este evento faz parte da série Inside Sparkling Science 2.0 - Spotlight que a partir de setembro terá dois projetos financiados pelo Sparkling Science se apresentando mensalmente - sempre ao meio-dia da segunda quinta-feira do mês - em uma sessão on-line de uma hora de duração, onde falarão sobre suas experiências e lições aprendidas.
Em duas pequenas apresentações de 15 minutos cada, eles falarão, na primeira parte, sobre suas metas científicas, seus parceiros de projeto, o resultado planejado, bem como a colaboração com estudantes e, possivelmente, outros Cientistas Cidadãos. Na segunda parte, eles fornecem insights sobre um tópico ou pergunta específica. Depois disso, haverá 30 minutos para perguntas e discussões.

Fostering The Higher Education Sector In Europe: The Role of Citizen Science in Transforming Universities -
The European Commission is making a policy effort to provide support for the higher education system in the European Union, enabling it to effectively respond to the changing needs of society and the economy. Citizen science has the potential to play an important role in transforming the higher education system. Universities are now venturing into the realm of citizen science as a means to engage the public in scientific research, to teach science (or the scientific process) and promote alternative avenues of knowledge creation. Despite the potential advantages, citizen science is not yet widely adopted as a standard approach in high education and academic culture.
In this context, the European Citizen Science (ECS) project, which connects a rich citizen science community, wants to provide a space to exchange practical experiences in integrating and using citizen science practices in universities and to gather recommendations for the European Commission and other stakeholders in ways of supporting citizen science in the high education sector.
To do so, ECS is organising an online event for everyone (such as academics, educators, university staff, citizen science practitioners, early career researchers, policy makers, civil servants, general public and industry representatives) interested in learning about and discussing the role of citizen science in transforming universities in Europe.

O webinar "Citizen Science – An Opportunity for Libraries and Societal Actors" (Ciência Cidadã - uma oportunidade para biblioteca e atores sociais, em tradução livre) terá apresentação de Thomas Kaarsted, diretor-adjunto da biblioteca da Universidade do Sul da Dinamarca (University of Southern Denmark - SDU) e também diretor do Centro de Conhecimento de Ciência Cidadã (Citizen Science Knowledge Center), da mesma instituição. Kaarsted atua com Ciência Cidadã desde 2017, foi gerente de projeto de diversos projetos de Ciência Cidadã e é coordenador do Grupo de Trabalho de Ciência Cidadã da LIBER. O evento faz parte da série de webinários sobre Ciência Aberta organizada pela Comissão Econômica para a América Latina (Cepal). A palestra será em inglês. Inscrições no site da Cepal.

A conferência da Citizen Science Association (CSA) de 2023, C*Sci 2023, será realizada de 15 a 26 de maio no campus da Arizona State University em Tempe, Arizona (E.U.A.). A inscrição para apresentações na conferência vai até 27 de janeiro de 2023.A partir da integração entre disciplinas, papéis e perspectivas, o evento compartilha as práticas tradicionais e inovadoras que levam a parcerias poderosas para descoberta, aprendizado e ação. A conferência terá escopo interdisciplinar, convidando resumos para simpósios transversais, workshops interativos, palestras envolventes e pôsteres dinâmicos.Nos últimos anos, a equipe de conferências da CSA também testou maneiras inovadoras de se reunir além dos limites do espaço e do tempo. O evento de 2023 será o primeiro a ser realizado de forma presencial desde 2019, oferecendo a oportunidade da conexão pessoal, se concentra nas maneiras únicas de aprender uns com os outros em um espaço compartilhado. The Cos4Cloud project is coming to an end! To wrap up over three years of the project and its community, Cos4Cloud and ECSA co-organise a final event for everyone interested in citizen science innovation in terms of technology, education, co-design and participatory methodologies, among others.

- Learn about the main project achievements and legacy of the project for the citizen science community
- Discover how you can take advantage of Cos4Cloud’s products and outputs and where to find them (13 services to improve citizen observatory technologies, the co-design methodology guide, the educational guideline, etc.)
- Celebrate the community that has actively participated in Cos4Cloud events to improve the services, the co-design methodology, and to learn how to integrate citizen science into school practice

Citizen science plays an important role in encouraging public engagement with research and tackling real-world problems. Research involving citizens and allowing them to gain more insight into the scientific process can lead to more trust in science in general. Also, our environmental, health, social, economic and political challenges require scientists, citizens, policymakers, and in general, a broader range of stakeholders, to find new ways of collaborating with each other. By sharing lessons learnt and best practices within and across scientific domains, the following challenges faced by both scientists and citizens will be addressed: Participation and motivation: What are the main reasons for scientists to engage with citizens and for citizens to engage in science? How do participants benefit from their experience? What are the key obstacles for widening participation? Strategies for engagement: What are the best ways to attract and sustain participation over time? How can communities of practice that encourage engagement and learning be created? What is the best way to combine physical and online tools/techniques? Quality and impact: What type of knowledge can be generated and according to which standards? Is engagement with citizens a way to enhance the quality of science, or only to enhance science impact in the wider society? What is the concrete impact on scientific practices and everyday lives of citizens? What are the key enablers for citizen science?
