Planetary scientists, astronomers, researchers, citizen science practitioners and other stakeholders are encouraged to present new projects and the developments of previous ones, in the context of promoting open and public science, including citizen science initiatives.
We are looking forward to seeing presentations on efforts related to open space/planetary science from any aspect!
The deadline is on Wednesday the 7th of May.
Web Analytics 101 for Citizen Science Project Teams

Web analytics is the process of collecting and analyzing data to reveal visitor traffic and engagement patterns on webpages. These tools and the insights they reveal can be invaluable for diagnosing issues and improving operations of citizen science projects. But what tools are available, and how does a busy citizen science team make best use of them?
This event will introduce some of the free web analytics tools and how to use them to assess and improve citizen science project operations.
First, we will hear from members of the NASA Office of Communications. They will ground our conversation in a discussion of key performance indicators - both what they are and the metrics you can use to track them. Both ideal cases and realistic scenarios will be addressed. Next, Cliff Johnson from the Zooniverse platform will share the data that Zooniverse can provide to projects hosted there. Finally, we will hear from SciStarter and the tools and dashboards they provide to assist affiliated projects in better understanding patterns of users and use.
As always, we will save time for your questions.

The Marie Curie Alumni Association (MCAA) together with Université Paris Cité/ Learning Planet Institute (UPCité/ LPI), invites you to participate in a joint European Citizen Science (ECS) Workshop at this satellite event.
Enriched by the knowledge and personal experiences of three experts in the field, the workshop will focus on the diverse aspects of public engagement and participatory research in the scientific ethos. From deep diving into the importance of engaging citizens in research and its impact on society, we will unveil some of the most common challenges that researchers face while utilising citizen science and the proven ways to combat them.

The webinar, How to make the best of citizen science for your research, is part of the MCAA Around the World Webinar Series and it has been created within the European Citizen Science (ECS) project, thanks to a collaboration between the Marie Curie Alumni Association and the Université Paris Cité/Learning Planet Institute. Experts on citizen science and young researchers will guide you along the implementation process and introduce the European Citizen Science Academy, one of the resources of the European Citizen Science project.

Neste evento, iremos discutir as relações entre estes dois campos de pesquisa e ação inter/transdisciplinares, a partir de apresentações de projetos de Ciência Cidadã relacionados à Saúde Planetária e discussões em estações temáticas (café com partilha).
A partir das discussões, pretendemos construir um documento em co-autoria com os participantes, sintetizando os aprendizados compartilhados, as experiências de iniciativas que integram estes campos de conhecimento, bem como propostas de avanços teóricos e práticos na inter-relação entre estes campos. Todos os participantes serão convidados a integrar a produção deste documento.

Lahore Science Mela

The Lahore Science Mela (LSM) is an annual citizen science festival organised by the Khwarizmi Science Society with its upcoming fifth edition planned on 28th and 29th October 2023 at Crescent Model Higher Secondary School, Shadman, Lahore (Boys Campus). The two day festival incorporates thousands of science exhibitions hosted by schools and private bodies, along with hundreds of KSS’s own demonstrations. The CERN’s LHC Interactive Tunnel, LIT Disco and exhibitions by the BioRobotics Institute of Italy are emblematic of the international projects that the Mela hosts. Volunteers from all over Pakistan sign up to showcase their science communication, media, and management skills.
Lahore Science Mela 2022 had over 200 performers presenting more than 3000 unique experiments, demonstrations, and performances from various fields, and attracted over 75,000 visitors over both days. Featuring a public planetarium and a large exploratorium with live experiments, indigenous inventions, puzzles, and demonstrations, the event was well-received, attracting people from all walks of life . O UCLA SETI usa o maior telescópio totalmente direcionável da Terra para procurar evidências de civilizações no universo. São observados milhares de estrelas e seus planetas com o objetivo de detectar transmissões de rádio. Neste evento, serão compartilhados detalhes sobre a pesquisa do grupo e apresentado uma plataforma de ciência cidadã que será usada para desenvolver ferramentas de Inteligência Artificial para acelerar a pesquisa. Os cientistas cidadãos vão ajudar a classificar milhares de sinais de rádio, contribuindo ativamente para a pesquisa a partir de um desktop, laptop ou smartphone.
