Changing hearts and minds through citizen science. Join the conference that will highlight how to bridge Education, Science and Civic Engagement through Citizen Science
The OTTERS Conference: Waves of Change aims to build bridges between citizen science, education and civic engagement and bring together relevant actors in all these fields.
The conference will bring current Citizen Science research and initiatives into light and highlight the OTTERS project’s contribution to the field over the past three years. Through oral presentations, workshops, posters and demonstrations, the conference will showcase innovative strategies to promote citizen science and water literacy, to engage communities, build capacity in education and scale up impactful initiatives.
Join the conference to explore and showcase how Citizen Science can drive societal transformation and ensure the sustainability of our aquatic ecosystems!
Conference For Advancing Participatory Science 2024 - CAPS

Call for 2024 Presentations DEADLINE EXTENDED.
Submit by 29 February 2024 for the option of a lightning talk.
Late-breaking posters considered through 30 April. Conference registration includes access to a core program of live, virtual events held across four days (June 3-6) as well as access to an online event space.
The core program will take place between 12-5 pm EDT and include keynote presentations and panel-style symposia on cross-cutting topics. Each day will feature a block of Ideas-to-Action Sessions (workshops, discussions, or collaborations) to turn inspiration into action, as well as live poster discussion sessions and networking events. Bring your research, story, or emerging idea to our 2024 virtual conference.
Citizen Science - Dresden Nexus Conference

At the Dresden Nexus Conference, one session is dedicated to Citizen Science. Under the title “Nexus Thinking in Action: How Citizen Science Shapes Sustainability”, the crucial role of citizen-collected data and societal participation in evidence-based policy making for sustainable development will be presented and expanded upon. In addition, current examples of citizen science approaches and their results and impacts will be presented. The conference will consist of a keynote lecture, lightning talks and posters, a panel discussion and discussion sessions to discuss the way forward for Citizen Science.
Newham Citizen Science Fair

We’re organising a Citizen’s tech event at the University of East London, Stratford, Water Lane on Saturday February 17th 2024. That’s tech made by citizen’s and/or that will help citizens. Currently there’s emphasis on Raspberry Pis, VR, AI and ecology. There’s a larger space for demonstrations, accessible via stairs and lift and a smaller space downstairs for talks, including AI bias and use of AI in healthcare. Lightning, 5 minute talks at the end too.
There are Pi based projects, other computer projects, Arduino and Wemo, and (tbc) virtual reality, 3d printing, programming with Scratch, electricity from fruit and veg, and other delights.
Diverse participation in Citizen Science: Astronomy Workshop

If you would like to explore astronomy, learn about light pollution, take light meter recordings, learn about citizen science, and give feedback to help inform inclusive workshop experiences, you are invited to attend a two-hour workshop on the 9th December 2023, from 6pm - 8pm at the UniSC Sippy Downs campus (Parking is free) in the visualisation studio (https://bit.ly/3FVJbkc).
