O Congresso Iberoamericano de Ciência Aberta 2025 é um evento que busca criar um espaço de diálogo entre Academia, Estado e Sociedade Civil sobre o direito à ciência e a promoção de transformações na forma como a ciência é compreendida, através de uma perspectiva inclusiva, aberta, participativa e responsável. O evento abordará temas cruciais como inteligência artificial na ciência aberta, revistas predatórias, ciência cidadã, políticas de sustentabilidade, infraestruturas abertas, monitoramento e avaliação, e habilidades e divulgação. O congresso acontecerá de 25 a 27 de novembro de 2025 em formato híbrido, com apresentações online e conferências magistrais presenciais em Quito, Equador. O evento é gratuito e inclui diversas atividades como conferências magistrais, laboratórios, painéis de discussão e apresentação de trabalhos em formato de artigos, pôsteres e peças artísticas. Os interessados podem submeter trabalhos até 15 de agosto, nos idiomas espanhol, português ou inglês (este último com tradução obrigatória para uma das línguas oficiais).

Call for contributions closes 15 December 2024 // Join us for the inaugural Citizen Science for Water (CS4Water) Conference, which will be held from 3 – 5 June 2025 in Delft, the Netherlands. For this inaugural CS4Water conference, we will focus on freshwater systems, diving into engaging workshop sessions, exploring innovative research, and connecting international water and citizen science experts. The conference will focus on the crucial role citizen science plays within water resource monitoring, management and governance as well as community-led actions. The conference will bring together experienced citizen science practitioners and newcomers from both the Global North and Global South who are interested in exploring how citizen science can contribute to water management.
Segunda edición del monitoreo del Arroyo Ludueña

El Gobierno de la Provincia convoca a la ciudadanía a participar de la segunda edición del monitoreo del Arroyo Ludueña, una iniciativa del Ministerio de Ambiente y Cambio Climático que apunta a integrar a vecinos y vecinas que quieran formar parte de un esfuerzo colaborativo para evaluar la calidad del agua y la biodiversidad. Esta actividad busca reforzar el vínculo entre la comunidad y el ambiente, promoviendo la participación en el cuidado del entorno natural. El monitoreo ciudadano se da en el marco del Plan de Abordaje Integral de la Cuenca del Arroyo Ludueña que lleva adelante el Ministerio de Ambiente y Cambio Climático de Santa Fe.¿Quiénes pueden participar? Equipos de entre 2 a 4 personas, mayores de 18 años y residentes en la provincial de Santa Fe.
La convocatoria está abierta a equipos de entre 2 y 4 personas, mayores de 18 años y residentes en la provincia de Santa Fe. No se requiere experiencia previa, solo el compromiso de participar en dos encuentros obligatorios y recolectar datos al menos dos veces entre el 21 febrero y el 10 de marzo.

Organizado pela SAVE Brasil e a Divisão da Fauna Silvestre da Prefeitura de São Paulo.

Hasta el 31 de marzo de 2024, puedes presentar una propuesta para integrar el programa del Foro. Llega la cuarta edición del Foro Abierto de Ciencias de América Latina y el Caribe, que tendrá lugar en San Andrés Isla, Colombia, del 21 al 23 de octubre de 2024.
Considerado el hub regional de la ciencia, la tecnología y la innovación, CILAC es una plataforma para debatir, planificar y monitorear políticas eficaces con la meta de alcanzar los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible de la Agenda 2030. Enfocado en el concepto central de “Ciencia que dialoga” en su cuarta edición, el Foro CILAC 2024 será un espacio en el que gobiernos, universidades, empresas, investigadores, sociedad civil y medios podrán debatir, planificar y monitorear la integración de la ciencia, la tecnología y la innovación para el desarrollo sostenible en América Latina y el Caribe.
Colombia será país anfitrión de este encuentro internacional, que a su vez será accesible desde todo el mundo vía streaming.
Postdoc (f/m/x) Citizen science, biodiversity and urban greening plans in Europe

Application deadline: 23.07.2024 -- The UrbanNaturePlans+ (UNPplus, UNP+) project will help develop the next generation of Urban Greening Plans in selected European cities (Mannheim, Berlin, Leipzig, Burgas, Belgrade, Paris, Barcelona), aiming to foster a systemic, integrated, and inclusive planning framework toward bending the curve of biodiversity loss. The UFZ will contribute to UNP+ by advancing citizen science to monitor biodiversity (with a focus on butterflies), and empower citizens and administrators to take more informed decisions on urban green areas. The candidate will advance citizen science efforts; and participate in analyzing how green spaces improve health, wellbeing and equity, as part of a contribution to the implementation of the Berlin Urban Nature Pact.

Alien CSI Bioblitz: a citizen science project to engage society in invasive species monitoring.
WHY THIS EVENT
There is no sign of saturation in accumulation of alien species (AS) introductions worldwide, while the rate of spread for some AS seems to be increasing. Particular attention must be dedicated to Invasive Alien Species (IAS), i.e., AS that harm biodiversity and ecosystem services, or have a negative impact on the economy or human health. Managing biological invasions depends on accurate, detailed and up-to-date information on occurrences, distribution, pathways and impact of IAS at varying spatial scales across Europe and indeed globally. The challenges of gathering information on AS are recognized, but recent developments in citizen science (CS), that is, the involvement of citizens in data collection or analysis for research projects, provide an opportunity to improve data flow and knowledge on AS. Further, it ensures effective and high quality societal engagement with the issue of IAS.
